106 St. CARES: We are helping kids...can you help, too?

106 St. Tire & Wheel & Corona Commerce Cares
Beautiful Music Together Piano Placement Program

We are proud members of the community & the greatest way to show our gratitude to the community that helped us build our business is to give back.

We are collecting pianos that people are giving away, we have a piano tuner who will give his services for free, we have a truck with hydraulic lift and we will place pianos with those with the greatest need first.

We are requesting that a paragraph be written explaining the situation so that we can ascertain those with the greatest need. We expect to have a waiting and, therefore, those who would like a piano are advised to put some thought into why your need maybe greater than someone else’s.

Who can have a free piano? In order to be eligible, we request that you have a real need. We are interested in children whose parents cannot afford a piano or seniors with the same need and not-for-profit organizations. If there are extenuating circumstances like perhaps a disability or an illness we want to help those people first. Music is healing and we will place those who are ill high on the list.

Here’s what we are asking from the community:

(1) CraigsList.org has a constant flow of free pianos in the free section on its site. We are asking everyone with some spare time to take a look at this everyday.

(2) Please feel free to make contact with the person giving away the piano. Please tell them about our “Make Beautiful Music Together” Program and pass on the information about what we are doing, why, how at give our phone number.

(3) Please call us with the information at 718-271-9700 (please do not call our shops!) or contact us by e-mail at tirewheels106@yahoo.com

(4) We have storage space, so there will be no such thing as too many pianos so please pass the word, fax a copy of the materials we have for you to others, leave a copy anywhere you think someone might pick it up.

(5) If you donate a piano, please write a brief history about the piano so it can passed to someone who maybe perhaps inspired by your generous act to do the same for someone else down the road.

(6) For those receiving pianos, please have a few people available to help move the piano off the hydraulic tailgate of the truck in to your home or facility. 106 St. Tire & Wheel cannot be responsible for damage or injuries to your home or facility or people.

THANK YOU,
106 St. Tire & Wheel, Inc.
