You know this, right? You do not own your LEASED CAR.

You are LEASING it; the dealer is going to sell your car when you return it. Any damage done, even those little nicks, dents and dings are going to cost you. What’s more, even if you have a great relationship with your dealer, more than likely, an independent, hard butted sub-contractor is going to go over your “borrowed” car with a fine tooth comb.

Every single one of those dents, marks and scratches in what goes beyond “normal war and tear” – like anything bigger than a credit card sized scratch is going to cost you. Please read your leasing agreement carefully to be sure about the terms.

So, you ask 106 St Tire & Wheel, “I have a great relationship with my dealer. He won’t rip me off, right?”

Um, guess what? Your dealer will NOT be inspecting your car, he will not determine what your lease return damage is, he will not prepare your car for inspection, he will not record those dings, dents, bald tires, etc.

Who determines what I could be charged for when I return my leased car?

The painful truth is this. This deed has nothing to do with the dealer but instead is done by a 3rd party. This person does nothing but inspect lease returns. He’s a sub contractor with a specific list of what to look for and the cash register will be ringing if you pass up a pre-lease return inspection at 106 St Tire & Wheel.

What kinds of charges don’t I know about but are the most common ones returning leased cars run into?

The biggest dealer charges on the return of a leased car result in 3 areas on your car:

1)    Glass

2)    Body & Bumpers

3)    TIRES & WHEELS
